CONTEST

We have a 2008 winner!

Nedra Wright!

A new quilt contest for 2009 has begun!

Come one. Come all.

There’s a new quilt contest to enter!

Readers have a chance to win a gorgeous quilt made by Amish women. The money goes to the yearly benefit for their community’s Amish school. Last year I was thrilled that by the end of the contest we had thousands of entrants. A few things to know: The winner of the first quilt contest was April R. of Temecula, California! The winner of the second quilt contest is Nedra Wright, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.

The photo above is a picture of the quilt Nedra won, but I’ll purchase a new one this spring at an Amish school sale auction. It’s a trip my whole family looks forward to, even my dad. This past year, I spent a week with my Old Order Amish friends. I plan the trips so that it coincides with their community’s school-sale auction. I’ll choose another quilt this year with the help of Amish quilters and try to pick one that will easily match most rooms. I’ve spent nine months looking forward to the next Amish school sale auction. I only have three more months to wait!

You can enter yourself into the contest one time. You can have a friend come by the site and enter themselves and you. One time per friend, please. If you have twenty friends come by the site, they can each enter themselves and your name one time. But you can only enter your name once and each friend can only enter your name once.

  • Those entering are agreeing to have their full name and state listed. The contest will continue until December 31, 2009 and a winner will be announced near or on January 25, 2010.

  • The winner must be a resident of the U.S. or be willing to pay the difference in the shipping costs.

  • The computer will automatically kick out any double entries and the final entry names and e-mail addresses will be double-checked by a human, so those who are entering can be confident that the contest is as fair as we can possibly make it.

  • After the first notice has been sent to the winner, she or he will have thirty days to respond. If we are not able to make contact within thirty days, we will notify the runner up, but I will send one notice each week during those thirty days. Please remember to keep whatever e-mail address you’ve typed in for the contest entry functioning until after the drawing. Or you can send me an e-mail letting me know of you’re new e-mail address, and I’ll handle it from there.

Thank you so much for participating! And thank you for being a part of my debut series:

Sisters of the Quilt

I look forward to the release of the first book in the Ada’s House series as well as the release of my first Christmas novella in the fall of 2009.
