Plain News ~ A Touch of Amish

Beloved Readers,

As everyone is embracing the slight shift to cooler weather, my family and I are looking forward to this Christmas season in ways we never have before. We are expecting our fifth grandchild, who is due right around Christmas. “Fuzzy” (so deemed by his big sister) has been bathed in prayer as we await his arrival.

Have you heard the term “rainbow baby”? It refers to a baby born after a miscarriage or stillbirth. Our fifth living grandchild will be born nearly a year after his parents lost his sister midway through the pregnancy. (You can read about our experience here on my blog.)

We rejoice.

The beauty of Christmas is centered on hope for everyone. Regardless of life’s challenges and heartaches, Christmas shines with hope for us all. Some victories are experienced here and now, others down the line, and still others in the next world.

Although nothing can lessen the pain and loss that we’ve all experienced, we can still have hope. Christmas is a reminder of the greatest hope, the greatest miracle of all.
