Beloved Reader,
I pray that each one of you is finding ways to grow in your faith and remain ever faithful to the only One who is worthy. Life is so beautiful and so fragile. It is everything good and everything unfair—sometimes within the same day or hour. But…faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 1:1).
Faith. Don’t start or end a day without it.
We’ve recently embarked on a journey that will last a lifetime, and although I thought I knew what we were taking on, I find myself amazed at how little I understood. Many of you know that my dad died in January and my special-needs brother has moved in with us.
So often in life, we begin a journey thinking it will be one thing, and it ends up something entirely different. Some of the time the trip holds better things than we’d hoped for. Sometimes it holds more difficult things than we think we can tolerate. But we never travel beyond the reach of God’s beautiful, powerful, refreshing, ever-strengthening grace and mercy. If you believe that, you’ll take faith with you wherever you go.
Behatz Sei Hoffning (Embrace His Hope),
Cindy

I’m so excited to introduce my friend and debut novelist MEG MOSELEY!
One weekend about five years ago, Meg and I were at a cabin in the North Georgia Mountains brainstorming on books. I was drawn into her story world through her excellent writing ideas and style. So when I was given a chance to read her debut novel for a possible endorsement, I jumped on it.
I wrote this endorsement: “Rich, deep, and painfully honest. When Sparrows Fall is a lovely work of fiction that portrays a side to American freedoms that is too real to ignore.”
Meg Moseley’s debut novel hit the store shelves May 3! For a chance to win an autographed copy of When Sparrows Fall AND an advanced reader copy of my fall release, The Harvest of Grace, hop over to my website and leave a comment on my blog. A winner will be chosen May 17. For more info, read the last paragraph at the end of this article.
WHEN SPARROWS FALL
Freedom. Safety. Love. Miranda vows to reclaim them–for herself and for her children.A widow and mother of six, Miranda Hanford leads a quiet, private life. When the pastor of her close-knit church announces his plans to move the entire congregation to another state, Miranda jumps at the opportunity to dissolve ties with Mason Chandler and his controlling method of ruling his flock. But then Mason threatens to unearth secrets from her past, and Miranda feels trapped, terrified she’ll be unable to protect her children. College professor Jack Hanford is more than surprised when he gets a call from his estranged sister-in-law’s oldest son, Timothy, informing him that Miranda has taken a serious fall and he has been named legal guardian of her children while she recovers. Quickly charmed by Miranda’s children, Jack brings some much-needed life into the sheltered household. But his constant challenging of the family’s conservative lifestyle makes the recovering mother uneasy and defensive—despite Jack’s unnerving appeal. As Jack tries to make sense of the mysterious Miranda and the secrets she holds so tightly, Mason’s pressure on her increases. With her emotions stirring and freedom calling, can Miranda find a way to unshackle her family without losing everything? |
