How Reader Friend of the Month Works:

Each month I give away something special, often an autographed copy of one of my books, sometimes a gift card or an Amish-made wall hanging, etc.

Why do I post giveaways on Facebook and on a “hidden-to-website-visitors” page on my website? Facebook’s policy says that if I post a giveaway on Facebook, I must give you more than one option of where to leave a comment. So that’s what I do, and however you wish to participate, I welcome your comment!

I will post an announcement letting you know that the giveaway for the month has begun. If you’d like to participate, simply leave a comment below or go to my Facebook fan page.

That’s all it takes to automatically be included for a chance to receive/”win” the giveaway for that month.

A winner will be chosen using, and the winner’s name will be posted on Facebook.

If your name is announced on my Facebook page (and we will tag you so Facebook will flag the info for you), please send your postal address to If you feel unsure about sending your private information through an email, please feel free to contact me through my website:

Recipients will have four weeks to claim their prize. I’ll get the books sent as soon as possible after I receive my author copies.

Because of international laws that regulate (and make difficult) contests and giveaways, I can offer this only to residents in the US. If you’d like more information concerning that, please click on the following link

  1. I love all of your books and all of your characters really have come to life for me! In this series I really am enjoying Rhoda. I’m only on book 1 of the Amish Vines and Orchards, but she is pretty compelling to me!

  7. I picked up one of your books “When the Morning Comes” at a thrift store. I usually read mystery or suspense books but this looked intriguing. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I am online looking for more of your books to purchase. Thank you

  8. I really like all of your books that I’ve read. I’m sure this one will be a good one too.

  10. That’s a hard question. One time it’s Samuel, the next Jacob, but I think Samuel would be the one who would be the one you could count on in the end. Great series of books. Would love to win Seasons of Tomorrow. Thanks for the opportunity. Linda

  11. Samuel really keeps me interested in the series, please keep the writing going. You are so very good God bless!

  12. Would love having this giveaway. I have read all of your books thus far and look forward to reading this last book in this series,

  13. Cindy I’ve not gotten any of this series but have wanted them from the first one. Your books are all good. From all of the reviews and interviews I will have to say Rhoda, but sure hope she makes the right decision. I sure would love to be the Reader of the month this time. Maxie

  14. Rhoda is, of course, my favorite character. But I have to admit Leah is a favorite also. And I can’t help but like Landon.
I have the first 3 of the Amish Vines and Orchards, so now I do need #4 to finish up. :)
    Thanks for writing the story.

  15. This reader would really feel like a reader of the month if I won this – and with my birthday today – would be a blessing.

  16. I can’t pick just one. They are all so great. When I read your books, I feel like I am right there living with them.

  17. I would have to say Samuel is my favorite character. I look forward to reading this new book and would love to win.

  18. I have to say Samuel is my favorite character. I can hardly wait for the 4th book….even my husband is reading them!

  19. Cindy

Oh ‘d love to receive this free book. I’ve read the first three and anxiously waiting for this one, then to pass it on to a friend who after she finishes reading it passes it on to her church library.

  20. Of course Rhoda is the main character. I am not sure which I would want for Rhoda ; Samuel or Jacob .
I just love the story . Keep up the good work . Samuel and Jacob both have good qualities .Hard working and loyal , Maybe Jacob needs to be a little bit more honest .

  21. I have been waiting anxiously for the fourth book in the Amish Vines and Orchards Series and would so love to win an autograph copy of Seasons of Tomorrow. I love all of your books and especially have enjoyed this series. To pick one favorite character is very hard, but I guess it would have to be Samuel because of his strong strength and faith.

  22. I don’t have a favorite character yet because I am waiting to be able to read the entire series at once. But I would love to win one!

  23. I have never read any of your books. So I would love to win this one so I can get started. I think you in advance. And the Lord too.

  24. I read the first book in this series then decided to wait until you complete the whole series since I hate having to wait until you get the next one. This would be wonderful to have these books.

  25. Really looking forward to reading the next book in the series. So easy to get involved in the stories!

  26. Hard question. Have loved all the books and to choose one character….hmmm. I guess it would have to be Samuel. Such a strong character who faced many obstacles and never lost faith. Rhoda runs a close second! Anxious for the next in the series, thanks for the opportunity to win! Blessings from my home to yours!

  27. Oh happy day when the next book comes out!!! I’m looking soooooooooooooo forward to reading it!!! :)

  28. The Vines and Orchard series have been my all time favorite books. I am so looking forward to the 4th book in the series and would be so privileged to own an autographed copy.

  29. My favorite character is Rhoda. Sure hope she picks the right guy!

I love this series, so hope I win a book.

  30. My favorite character would have to be Samuel. He has really come a long way from book one. However, I fall in love with all of your characters in all the books.

  31. I have read alot of your books, but sorry to say this series I have not read. I really love the way you write. It’s hard to put your books down.

  32. My favorite character is of course Rhoda. I cannot wait til the next book is released. I love your books and can’t put them down once I begin reading. Then the last page is suddenly here and my heart breaks because it’s over. It’s easy to feel as if I am in the very town or home with the characters of your books. Thank you.

  33. I’ve got to say Rhoda. She is so real and even though I’m not Amish, she is easy to identify with. That’s one of the things I love about your books, Cindy. In addition to well written plots, you have characters that are well thought out and easy to care about. I most care about Rhoda in this series. Can’t wait to read your newest book, and hope I win it :-)

  34. today my Mom turned 87, so maybe it will be a lucky day for me. Rhoda Byler has to be the favorite

  35. I just spent $63.00 for books and they were all Amish novels and an Amish devotional. Thanks for writing and also for having your giveaways. Looking forward to your new books. Thanks.

  36. I have read the first 3. All were wonderful. Been anticipating book 4 of the series. Keep up the good work. I have many of your books and loan them to friends so they are well read.

  37. Have always enjoyed your books. I have several and they are all read. I buy them then I have to start reading right away. Thank you for sharing your talent/gift God has given you.

  38. I love all the characters… have been waiting patiently for the last book! Would love to win! Thanks for the chance! :-)

  39. I have read the first 3 of this series, and will get this one soon, I’ve enjoyed the story so much, and I have to know what Rhoda does next.

  40. My favorite character in this series is Rhoda Byler. She has a strength of character and faith about her that you know she will survive anything that is put in her way. Even when her faith is tested, she knows that God is there for her and always will be. Love this series!

  41. Rhoda! Thank you for the opportunity to win a copy of your new book when it becomes available.

  42. Unfortunstely, I have not read this series. Each book is on my “wish list”. But, living on $300 a month, I am limited on purchasing any “extras”. What a honor it would be to win a set of these books!!

  43. Have all the books except the final one….have been waiting and waiting to read them because I want to read the whole set at once….can’t wait to get started….:)

  44. Samuel, it has to be Samuel for Rhoda! Jake is wonderful too, but he is never there when Rhoda really needs him. I understand Jake’s obligations………………… but for Rhoda, Sam is the Man!!!!!

  45. Leah is my favorite character and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. Thank you so much for this opportunity.

  46. It’s really difficult to decide, but I have to say I think for me it is Samuel. And I am hoping he winds up with Rhoda!

  47. I am waiting for this book to come out to see about the conclusion of Leah’s “story”. I’v donated the series to our church library and I have at least two people asking me when will book four be released. Cannot wait to share it with them. Would be great to win it but I will buy it if I’m not a winner.

  48. I have really enjoyed reading the first 3 books and I look forward to reading this one. I an amxious to find out what is happening between Rhoda and the rest of the community. And also see whom Rhoda chooses Samuel or Landon. I think Samuel would always and completely love Rhoda because he sees her for who she is even though at times the two of them have fought.

  49. Would love to win Seasons of Tomorrow. I LOVE this series! Can’t wait to learn what happens to Samuel, Rhoda, Landon, etc!

  50. It’s a toss up between Samuel and Landon. I really like Rhoda & Leah too though. Have really enjoyed reading the first 3 books and can’t wait to start reading this last one.

  51. It’s hard to choose my favorite, but I would have to go with Samuel. He is much deeper and more compassionate than his family. He, at times, is misunderstood, which I can relate to. I also love Landon’s patience with what he perceives as strangeness about the Amish lifestyle. I love this series and cannot wait to have book #4 in my hands.

  52. The obvious favorite would be Rhoda and/or Samuel. However, I also really like Landon. I can’t wait for the next book!

  53. I love Rhoda’s character. Looking forward to the new book release. Thank you for the opportunity to win a copy.

  54. I am now reading book two from Vines and Orchards Series and looking back on all my books, I have many books you have written. I do have to tell you Sister’s of the Quilt was great. That one I had trouble putting down, some days my house work would be set a side so I could read it. My wonderful Daughter got this book for me as a Christmas gift. Thank you for your wonderful books.

  55. I have enjoyed the Vines and Orchard series…and looking forward to reading the last of the series.

  56. i can’t wait until book #4 comes out! I’ve been waiting to read the entire series and can’t wait to get started on them!

  57. I would love to win this book. I love Amish fiction and truly enjoy your books. So please enter my name in this contest…..

  58. While I really do love all the characters in the series I would have to say that I really enjoy reading about Landon. He has so much respect for Rhoda and her Amish faith/beliefs. He does not try to change her. He is a great friend. I can’t wait to see what happens with him and Leah.

  59. Its extremely difficult to pick just one character, I fell in love with Hannah in the beginning, then Rhoda, the entire King family, all have their own place in the story and in my heart. Can’t wait to see what will happen in your next book..Love them all,

  60. I love all your books. I couldn’t pick just one favorite, they all have their special places in each story.

  61. I’ve read the series, but can’t remember all the characters in them. I can read a book and forget the stars of the book a lot of the time. But then sometimes if I know someone who has read the book then I ask them if the plot is what I thought… Even if I don’t win, I will still read the book …

  62. I think I would have to pick Rhoda Byler. Her character has been through so much, it has been inspiring to read about her growth through faith.

  63. Loved all of your series . They are good clean reading . Christian living and morals . They are books to be passed around and hope people get a message from them .

  64. Rhoda, the Kings, all of them……who could we not love? But I think Rhoda wins, hands down!, or…….
    Thanks Cindy!

  65. Love all your books! Would love to have an autographed copy of any of them in my library. Thank you for the chance to win one.

  66. I cannot wait to read this, Cindy! I have always loved your books. Keep them coming! Blessings to you!

  67. I like Samuel. He and Rhoda belong together. I love all of your books. I have read them all. I have also shared my copies with many friends. We all agree that your stories are uplifting. Keep writing and we will keep reading and sharing. I would cherish a signed copy of any of your books.

  68. What a great opportunity…to win these books! Thank you for being so kind to your readers.

  69. I wish my name would be the lucky one. I love the books and the beautiful covers they have..My fingers are crossed

  70. I have read any of them yet as I am waiting for the last book to come out. I can not wait to read them

  71. I love your books and frequently recommend them to my patrons at our small town library. You are quite popular in Upland, Indiana!

  72. Can’t wait for your newest book. Love your books. Good clean, Christian reading. God bless you. Of course, would love to win.

  73. I haven’t read this series but I loved Hannah in your first series. She was so strong and I loved how she found herself. It was so hard to wait for each book in the series so I’m waiting for the last book to come out so that I can start reading!
